Se siete interessati alla Mitologia Norrena ma non avete voglia di leggervi i miti in versione originale, ovvero tradotti direttamente dalle fonti e talvolta con un linguaggio un pò aulico, questo libro fa per voi. Neil Gaiman dà certe volte un tocco un pò troppo personale ad alcuni miti, rovinando un pò quello che era il sentimento originario del racconto mitico, ma è sicuramente un buon punto di contatto tra i miti nordici e...voi. Purtroppo, però, da quello che ho capito, è disponibile soltanto in Inglese, ma posso assicurarvi che Neil Gaiman scrive in un modo molto semplice e lineare, quindi anche chi non ha una grande conoscenza della lingua di Albione può sicuramente godersi questo viaggio verso il freddo Nord, senza preoccuparsi troppo della distanza temporale tra i miti e la contemporaneità. Se, poi, amate Neil Gaiman come scrittore, nell'Introduzione viene spiegato anche come l'autore si sia avvicinato alla mitologia dei posti dove Aquilon' rimbomba e come questi hanno influenzato molte delle sue opere. Se, invece, non vi importa nulla di Gaiman, ripeto, è comunque un bel viaggio da fare!.
